Who writes and reviews

Condition and bracing guides are drafted by medical writers and reviewed by our clinical review board, which spans orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, physical therapy, orthotics, and athletic training. The reviewing clinician and review date appear on each guide.

Sourcing standards

  • Clinical claims follow current published guidance from bodies such as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and peer-reviewed literature indexed by the National Library of Medicine.
  • Where evidence is mixed or weak, we say so rather than overstate.
  • Recovery timelines are presented as typical ranges, not promises.

Review cycle

Each clinical page is re-reviewed at least every 12 months, or immediately when significant new guidance is published. The "Updated" date on each page reflects the last clinical review.

Commercial independence

We sell braces; that is disclosed plainly. Editorial recommendations are set by clinical reviewers, not sales data. No manufacturer pays for placement, and lower-cost options are recommended whenever the evidence supports them.
